A bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Sheel Nagu quashed the Karnataka HC order which had held that “right given to the voter is only to file an election petition, and not to register a private complaint of crime which is the duty of the Election Commission, if it wants to do so”.

The case involved a scheme to obtain federal crop insurance benefits he was not entitled to receive. McBee admitted selling more than 1.2 million bushels of corn and nearly 416,000 bushels of soybeans in 2018.
The claims have been made in an affidavit filed on Wednesday in which Wangchuk is also accused of inciting “violence in Leh on Sept 24, 2025” in which four people were killed and scores injured in alleged police firing on protesters demanding statehood and Sixth Schedule status for the Union territory (UT) of Ladakh.
